MVSHRM Student Scholarship Award

2009 Student Scholarship Award Presented:

This scholarship is awarded annually by the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management to a student who has declared Human Resource Management as a major concentration or is a student majoring in Business/Management who has demonstrated an interest in Human Resources as a career path through coursework and management related academic and/or life experiences.

MVSHRM is proud to announce Andrew Demyan as the 2009 Recipient. The award was presented April 21, 2009 at the Ramada Inn, New Hartford, NY. Andrew is native to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is majoring in Management and has a concentration in Human Resources. He expects to graduate in the spring of 2010 from Utica College . He is an active member in the college community. He is the Vice President of the Utica College student chapter of SHRM. As such, he attended the 60^th Annual SHRM National Conference in Chicago. Andrew also intends to be at the 61st this summer in New Orleans . Andrew participates in a number of other organizations on campus besides SHRM. He is a Residents’ Assistant (RA) overseeing a floor of approximately 40 students, a member of the UC Pioneer Football team, a Tutor, and a mentor for freshmen HEOP students. Apart from school, Andrew is proud to call himself an Eagle Scout, and is an adult leader for his former troop.

2008 Student Scholarship Award presented

MVSHRM is proud to announce Christopher S. Newtown as the recipient of the MVSHRM 2008 Student Scholarship Award. He grew up in Sauquoit, NY and will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management in May from Temple University in Philadelphia.  He has accepted a position that he will assume upon graduation with ARAMARk Corporation. Mr. Newtown was presented the award at MVSHRM's April 2008 meeting held at the Holiday Inn.

2006 Student Scholarship Award Winner Announced!

MVSHRM is proud to announce this years recipient: Maritka Jones.

Markita is a May 2006 graduating senior at Utica College, majoring in
Management, with a concentartion in Human resources.
