March 16th:  MVSHRM presents "Workman's Compensation".
Speaker Mike Cronin of Crown Risk Management, LLC will provide an overview of the significant changes in the New York State Worker’s Compensation regulations that occurred in 2007 outlining how they will impact benefits and claim costs. Other issues discussed will be Workers Compensation Post Injury Claim Management, Employer’s rights, Worker’s rights, Worker’s Comp and how it interacts with FMLA, Employer’s Worker’s Comp and Independent contractors/temps, along with some examples of the different types of incidents that lead to injury or illness that can lead to Worker’s Comp cases. This will be a breakfast meeting at the Holiday Inn. February 16th: MVSHRM presents Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Turns up the Enforcement Heat:  What to do if OSHA comes to the door. Speakers Ronald Williams, Assistant Area Director of the Syracuse OSHA Office and David W. Lyman, Risk Manager, Gilroy, Kernan & Gilroy will offer an overview of which types of organizations  need to be concerned with OSHA. Also addressed in the prsentation: OSHA Recordkeeping requirements, New OSHA Developments, Proactive approaches to reduce exposure to OSHA inspection, OSHA Penalties,  Whistleblower rights and the Mohawk Valley Safety Professional’s Consortium (MVSPC). This lunch meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn. click here for complete details and registration information.
